Bonjour
and welcome to the website of Sacrebleu, Northampton.
Cooking
and good food are my passions and I founded Sacrebleu in Northampton town
centre in 2004 to serve the food I would like to eat. We don't follow a
formal structure or formula and our menu is a comfortable fusion of French
and English cuisine. Our ethos is very simple - good food in a relaxed,
friendly atmosphere - so we take food seriously but don't do food snobberry
and we certainly don't push anyone to eat quickly and leave.
We
confound a lot of expectations simply because we are not like other eating
establishments, we don't call most of them restaurants. We don't do anything
mass produced, nothing out of packets and you can spend the night over
your meal if you want to. The restaurant iself is not visible from the
street, with simple furnishings and exposed beams in the dining room and
a separate bar downstairs. We also have a marquee for events. Our venue
is even more quirky and eclectic than our menu and that's the way we like
it - we don't do mass market.
There's
nothing wong with mass market and if that's what you want it's fine, we
have things on the menu like frog's legs because we're expected to and
that's fine too. If you want something more than prepared meals but without
the stuffiness then come to Sacrebleu.
This
website is intended to be very straight forward - it gives some basic information
about the restaurant, with menus, booking information and how to find us.
We hope it will also impart a little bit of what Sacrebleu is all about
and that you will want to sample a different dining experience in Northampton.
We
also host parties, functions and events - we have a full licence until
3am. Whether youre an individual or group, anyone who likes good
food is warmly welcome.
Merci
Hamid Guerna, Propietor
